THE MISSION OF THE CORNHOLE PLAYERS ASSOCIATION
The Cornhole Players Association (CPA) developed from a group of players whose devotion to the game of cornhole saw an opportunity to help advance the game from amateur to competitive levels, and ultimately to be recognized as a professional sport. Through this vision the players realized that several things needed to take place.
First, there needed to be an association that not only helped protect players , but also give tournament directors a place to go for standardized rules, brackets and other ideas to help ensure that cornhole events run efficiently while providing a challenging, enjoyable experience so player participation can thrive.
Second, there had to be one structured, passionate assembly that would be well respected and trusted, not from spoken words, but from the character revealed as they educate and support cornhole player development.
The CPA is not affiliated with, nor do they answer to any other group or organization. The CPA was shaped for the core motive of bringing tournament directors and players together for the enjoyment and growth of the sport.
With our mission statement in mind, the CPA has established cornhole rules and formats for both tournament and league play. These guidelines were created and voted on by new and veteran players who appreciate the sport for enjoyment purposes in cornhole leagues and the strong competition of tournament play.
The rules and formats established by the CPA for both amateur and competitive play have been carefully drawn up to eliminate some of the other systems provided by numerous companies who are not essentially contributing to the overall joy and development of this great sport.
