Each and every board we manufacture meets or exceeds both ACA and ACO standards. The playing surface is constructed using 3/4 BIRCH hardwood plywood as our standard or red oak as an upgrade. It is attached to the frame using heavy duty construction glue and trim nails. The heads of the nails are counter sunk and filled with wood filler. This creates a flawless playing surface. The frame is constructed using hand selected, #2 or better premium 2x4 lumber. It is built using pocket holes and screws from the INSIDE of the frame. No penetrations from the outside. This further enhances the overall appearance of the set. The legs utilize a one piece, collapsible design. This may not seem like a big deal, but non-collapsible or individually folding legs are actually a big hassle. The whole set is sanded smooth using first 120 grit and then 220 grit sandpaper. No rough edges or splinters to worry about. We paint our sets using outdoor, mildew resistant primer. Once the primer has dried, we apply 3 coats of Glidden or Behr outdoor paint. If custom logo work has been ordered, this is when we would apply it to the set. Finally, we seal the whole thing with 5 coats of semi gloss, floor quality urethane. It literally seals your logo and paint beneath a clear protective layer, making the finish virtually wear-proof! The best benefit of this treatment, however, is this step creates a uniform playing surface from set to set to set.
